January 16, 2009

The Honorable Hillary Rodham Clinton

 New York, NY  10017

 Dear Senator Clinton:

Congratulations on your new undertaking as Secretary of State of the United States!  It is with gladness and joyfulness to be a part of millions of Americans who will follow your path as you bring peace and harmony between peoples in different villages around the globe.  As I tried to find a reason why things happened the way that they did, my heart told me that it is your destiny, in this time, in this place, as you continue in your unwavering commitment to make a difference in people's lives.

Enclosed is a compilation of messages of congratulations and best wishes from your many supporters who will forever be your friends.  Every word was written with utmost love for you.  In your moment of reflection, please open this and be reminded that you are not alone.  Through your courage and compassion, you have awaken our senses to get involved, to read, to watch, to listen; for that you have enriched our lives forever.   We will follow you with our thoughts and prayers during the many challenging and joyful times ahead of you.

Best wishes to you, Chelsea, Pres. Clinton and your lovely mom, Ms. Dorothy.  God bless you and God bless America.

Sincerely,

Thanks to all who sent their messages. I am sure that she and her family will appreciate all the greetings. For me, it is the final acceptance and a bridge to follow to her destined place. Peace my fellow villagers. We are here in this place, in this time. This is destiny. God bless Hillary. God bless America.

Good morning villagers!!!

Wow, Normita! Thank you, this is just a wonderful letter and a great idea. Reading your letter makes me even more proud of Hillary and our village. Thank you so much for doing this. Last night I watched again the video - farewell speech of Hillary and I just feel so proud and happy for her.

Teri, I hope you are feeling much better today. And MJ, in case you are lurking, we miss you!!!
Its 5 below 0 here today!!! And I don't think I want to go out. Need to do errands but I guess not today. Keep warm villagers!!! Will try to catch you guys later. Take care!!!

Thank you for the lovely and heartful post Normita.

I am reposting what I entered below in case you don't look at old threads. Alabama also joined us last night for a bit.

The email regarding Geithner that I sent to my two senators is posted in the forum in case you want to contact your senators as well. My sister in Minnesota said she would do the same but oops - they currently only have one!

I think that those of us not watching on Tuesday should come up with an alternative activity. I thought the following was a good one minus the need to go to Arizona:

"My friend is going to Arizona tomorrow for the weekend with his friend to drink margaritas and sit by the pool in McCain's home state."

So I was thinking that margaritas and Hillary Clinton's chocolate chip oatmeal cookies might be a good way for the village to virtually share on Tuesday. Any other ideasa?

Need to run errands. BBL

Good morning, villagers, Jean and Maria, early risers! I will be mailing the letter and the newsletter of greetings to our chief today, priority mail, and of course her mom Dorothy gets her very own copy. I sent her a special note on the blog congratulating her for her daughter as SOS. She must be gleaming with pride. Yes, we need MJ back badly, the lights are not too bright without her. Maria, keep warm. Shirley and I are going to take care of our errands early. Check later.

And a good Saturday morning to Maria, Taylor, Normita, and all of you fine folks!!

I just wanted to drop by and say "hi!!" to everyone like I said I would.

alabamian, thanks for the shout out the other night!! I have missed you too!!

Maria, thank you. I have missed you as well!!

Taylor, I haven't decided if I'll catch any of Tuesday's happenings. My initial reaction was, "There's no way I'll watch!" If I don't tune in, I'll have a virtual screwdriver and a couple of Hillary's chocolate chip cookies!! Or, maybe I'll read a book!

Normita, your cover letter above is great!! Gosh, I wish I could actually see this gorgeous new site. I've read that it's a beautiful orange color. And, thank you for missing me. Whether or not I talk with you before your trip, have a splendid time!!

As I have said many times in the past, I love ALL of you, and that includes the darn lurkers!! Whether I am actively involved or not, you are in my heart.

Gooooooooooood Saturday Morning to my village peeps!
Normita, the letter to our Chief is superbulous, and the greetings turned out to be the same.
They are going to love it!
I am still a little puny, so will be fading in and out, kind of like Casper. LOL!
As for Tuesday, gack! I will be protesting the TV again, and now will be protesting for another four years, unless our Chief is on there. I thought I might order Netflix, except that they are a sponsor of MSNBC!

Thank you Tanya. I do drink a lot of water, but it hard for me to sit still! I am not a good sick person.
I hope no one else gets this new strain of cootie, it hangs on for weeks! Oy!
Everyone take your Vit. C and antioxidants!

Well, HC.com decided for me. Her book is no longer available for a contribution. So I gave $25.00. I hope Hillary raised a good amount on 1/5 at the concert. Normita, I thought of what you said," How can I refuse her?" so true..

Thank you goandersent -- it made me laugh and I have sent it to my family. If you are trying to avoid the news, the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants is on Lifetime tonight.

Tomorrow I hope to make Hillary's chocolate chip cookies. I'm getting ready for Tuesday.

Have a great evening.

MJ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MaryJo, I am so glad to see you in the village!!! I know you miss us too. I do hope you are feeling better. Normita is right, we need you here, the lights ain't that bright. I can even help with the lights as I can't even find the darn switch!!! LOL

Been busy here working on something good ;-) And also busy with chores.
Dorothy, sorry but I can't donate anymore, I just spent $75 on that Hillary event last Thursday just to see Hillary and Jon Bon Jovi. I have done my part already.

GoAndersen, LOL you made me crack up! But hey they're all so true. I am avoiding TV on Tuesday as well. I am praying for rain, sleet, snow, and 25 below zero temps for DC on Tuesday. Sorry Taylor, I know you're from the area! LOL Did you guys hear they are spending $95 Million minimum for that circus on Tuesday!!! WTF?? Unbelievable!!!

Okay, I will try to be back later, but I am busy working on the new home we will have soon. Take care and keep warm folks!!!

The recipe for the Hillary's CCC is in the forum with the other recipes. When I have time I will try to get the recipe entry organized. Does anyone have Hillary's snickerdoodle recipe? It use to be on her website and I never copied it.

I'm in the middle of the movie--got to get back.

Taylor, here's the exact recipe for the snickerdoodles:

2 cups flour
1 cup water
4 tsp active yeast
2 tbsp of carbonated water
3 cups sugar
5 cups orange juice

stir for 10 minutes or until very thick

bake for 1 hr at 400 F

Normita,

Great letter, you have such a flare for writing.

Welcome
