The Bridesmaid Hailey Abbott Some promises are made to be broken. Several years before, seven-year-old Abby Beaumont and thirteen-year-old Carol Beaumont made a pact that they would never get married. It is nine years later and Abby is appalled to learn that her sister Carol is engaged to a man she has been dating a mere two months. To make matters worse, Carol asks Abby to be her maid of honor. Mr. and Mrs. Beaumont insist that the nuptials be held at their chateau, the Dove’s Roost, since weddings are their forte. Having been a bridesmaid eight times, author Abbott writes from experience as she describes the insanity that occurs during the planning phase of weddings. Throughout this story, the author causes the reader to contemplate how fragile family bonds are at times, and how family members are able to mend their emotional wounds. An ideal choice for young females who dream about walking down the aisle some day. BIBLIO: 2005, Delacorte Press/Random House, Ages 8 up, $7.95 and $17.99. Is this fictional or based on a true story? It sounds like a real story.

Taylor, as I recall, it is a fictional story by an author who has had a lot of experience as a bridesmaid. This is why it seems real. I believe the characters are fictional.
